This is an opportunity for you to join content expert Sheila Vandenbush, CDA, RDA, RDH, MS, Ph.D. and other fellow educators to discuss strategies for teaching Dental Radiology. 

This session focuses on strengthening dental radiology instruction by addressing challenging didactic concepts and introducing innovative teaching strategies that support student learning. Participants will explore methods for faculty calibration to ensure consistency in instruction and evaluation, while aligning course content with NBDHE expectations and CODA Standards. The session also provides an interactive forum for faculty to share experiences, discuss outcomes, and collaborate on effective approaches to improve student success in dental radiology.

Objectives:

1. Identify challenging dental radiology didactic concepts to teach and discuss innovative strategies to promote student learning.
2. Implement faculty calibration techniques for teaching.
3. Correlate NBDHE and CODA Standards within your course.
4. Provide an interactive forum for sharing of experiences and outcomes.

Educators Platform Masterminds are dynamic two-hour virtual sessions building on each other’s challenges, ideas and successes in the presence of a content expert. Mastermind sessions are thoughtfully facilitated to create an environment for like-minded colleagues to share and learn from one another with the goal of collective professional growth and development. Sessions are uniquely tailored to the needs of participants. Those attending will have the opportunity to create strong connections with other participants to last a whole career.

More about our content expert: Dr. Vandenbush is a clinical practitioner and educator. She currently serves on the Commission on Dental Hygiene Review Committee, is part of two NBDHE test writing committees, is a CDCA/ADEX clinical dental hygiene examiner and a past CODA site visitor. Her experience with analog film, phosphor plate technology, sensor imaging, and 2D/3D imaging has kept her at the forefront of dental radiology. With over 15 years of teaching dental radiology, Dr. Vandenbush will present dental radiography techniques, current dental technology, tips and best practices, while providing an open platform for discussion of interest for the practitioner and educator.
