Faculty calibration continues to pose a significant challenge in clinical education due to varying opinions, evolving protocols, and time limitations. To address this issue, simulation-based Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) can offer a potential solution. Through this hands-on Mastermind workshop, participants will gain valuable insights into the practical applications of OSCEs, empowering them to improve faculty calibration within their respective programs, enhancing consistency in clinical evaluation and supporting academic excellence.

Objectives:

• Define simulation-based OSCE.
• Discuss the evaluation process of an OSCE to use for faculty calibration.
• Identify methods of integrating the simulation- based OSCE for faculty calibration.

Educators Platform Masterminds are dynamic two-hour virtual sessions building on each other’s challenges, ideas and successes in the presence of a content expert. More about our content expert: Dr. Nisa Hashmani is an associate professor in the Dental Hygiene Program of the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry. She teaches Educational Seminar, Educational Practicum, and Capstone for the MSDH program where she focuses on integrating interactive tools into instructional design. She has a passion for technology-enhanced learning and has presented at local, State, national, and international conferences. She loves cooking, painting, event planning, and spending time with her husband, and their two children.

Attendees of Educators Platform Mastermind sessions will earn 2 CEU in Educational Methods.
