This is an opportunity for you to join content expert Silky Sharma, RDH, EdD, and other fellow educators to discuss current evidence and best-practices for various periodontology-related topics such as: Medical and systemic conditions and thier relation to perio, biofilm/calculus & use of antibiotics for NSPT, pocket depths, bleeding, recession, furcation, mobility, use of ultrasonic versus hand scaling, and current guidelines on NSPT. Attending this Mastermind will ensure you are up to date on the latest research as you teach periodontology and instruct in clinic.

Educators Platform Masterminds are dynamic two-hour virtual sessions building on each other’s challenges, ideas and successes in the presence of a content expert. Mastermind sessions are thoughtfully facilitated to create an environment for like-minded colleagues to share and learn from one another with the goal of collective professional growth and development. Sessions are uniquely tailored to the needs of participants. Those attending will have the opportunity to create strong connections with other participants to last a whole career.

More about our content expert: Dr. Silky Sharma, RDH, Ed.D is an Assistant Professor at Harper College, Palatine, Illinois, and has been a faculty member since 2010. She earned her master’s degree from the University of Illinois with a focus on Evidence-Based Decision Making. Dr. Sharma earned her Doctorate from Grand Canyon University in Education, in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis on Adult Learning. She has continued to practice dental hygiene, providing patient-centered care at a perio-focused office for 18 years. Dr. Sharma is a clinic coordinator and provides courses on Periodontology for Dental hygienists, Advance Perio Instrumentation, Perioscope-Clinic, Scientific Literature, Pain management, and Oral Pathology. She presents continuing education programs for dental colleagues on various topics. She is a consultant dental hygiene examiner for CDCA, the national dental/dental hygiene competency assessment organization. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and is passionate about teaching and learning from health care professionals.
