When a student is struggling academically and/or presenting challenging behavior, it can throw off the entire flow of the semester. Join content expert Sheree Lee Duff, RDH, BSDH, MSA, and other fellow educators to discuss strategies for addressing and hopefully preventing these student issues.

Objectives:

• Discuss methods of maximizing office hour time and supporting open communication
• Identify how to approach and support a student that might be struggling academically
• Identify how to handle difficult conversations with difficult students

Educators Platform Masterminds are dynamic two-hour virtual sessions building on each other’s challenges, ideas and successes in the presence of a content expert. Mastermind sessions are thoughtfully facilitated to create an environment for like-minded colleagues to share and learn from one another with the goal of collective professional growth and development. Sessions are uniquely tailored to the needs of participants. Those attending will have the opportunity to create strong connections with other participants to last a whole career.

More about our content expert: Sheree Duff currently serves as a Clinical Lecturer at her alma mater, the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She is the former founder and Director/Associate Dean of the Baker College Dental Hygiene programs and former Program Director of Lansing Community College Dental Hygiene Program. As a leading content expert in periodontology, teaching the subject for over 30 years, she presents continuing education programs on the subject of periodontology as well as nonsurgical care of the periodontal patient. She is the recipient of the 2010 Sunstar Award of Distinction as well as numerous teaching awards for her passion and dedication to the profession. She serves as a current consultant to the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) as well as a member of two ADA's National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE) test construction committees. Having written curriculum for many years, she has served as a course director for board review preparation courses with graduate success.

Attendees of Educators Platform Mastermind sessions will earn 2 CEU in Educational Methods.
