This is an opportunity for you to join content expert Sheila Vandenbush, RDA, RDH, MS, Ph.D. and other fellow educators to discuss current concepts of test writing with “hands on” examples to better frame your questions more effectively test concepts. You will learn about test-writing resources and learn tips and tricks to better to prepare students for the format of the NBDHE. 

Objectives:

1. Utilize test writing fundamentals to transform test questions from good to well-written test questions. 
2. Reframe examination questions to be succinct, meaningful, and provide a concise measure and assessment of student achievement. 
3. Demonstrate how to write questions that augment the quality and quantity of content items to prepare students for the NBDHE.
4. Discuss the importance of assessment of test results for improving student success.
5. Develop your test writing toolkit:  the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations Examination Item Development Guide for NBDHE and helpful websites.
6. Introduction to the Dental Hygiene Licensure Objective Structured Clinical Examination (DHLOSCE).

Educators Platform Masterminds are dynamic two-hour virtual sessions building on each other’s challenges, ideas and successes in the presence of a content expert. Mastermind sessions are thoughtfully facilitated to create an environment for like-minded colleagues to share and learn from one another with the goal of collective professional growth and development. Sessions are uniquely tailored to the needs of participants. Those attending will have the opportunity to create strong connections with other participants to last a whole career.

More about our content expert: Dr. Vandenbush is a clinical practitioner and educator. She currently serves on the Commission on Dental Hygiene Review Committee, is part of two NBDHE test writing committees, is a CDCA/ADEX clinical dental hygiene examiner and a past CODA site visitor. Her experience with analog film, phosphor plate technology, sensor imaging, and 2D/3D imaging has kept her at the forefront of dental radiology. With over 15 years of teaching dental radiology, Dr. Vandenbush will present dental radiography techniques, current dental technology, tips and best practices, while providing an open platform for discussion of interest for the practitioner and educator.

Attendees of Educators Platform Mastermind sessions will earn 2 CEU in Educational Methods.
