Yvette Reibel, EdD, MSDH


Yvette Reibel is a Clinical Associate Professor and currently serves multiple roles in the Division of Dental Hygiene at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis including the Dental Hygiene Clinic Director and Master of Science in Dental Hygiene Program Director. Through her work as Clinic Director she has designed clinical experience to competency based educational standards. She received her doctorate in education with research focused on leadership in higher education with a focus on health professions. Dr. Reibel is passionate about dental hygiene, research and the growth of the profession.

Heather Anderson, RDH, MSDH


Heather Anderson is full time faculty at her alma mater Eastern Washington University where she teaches Preclinic, Disease Prevention, and Restorative courses. Heather has over 20 years of clinical experience working across Washington state in many different capacities, including working currently one day a week in private practice. She served on two ADEA workgroups developing competencies for both dental hygiene graduate and entry-level allied dental profession educational pursuits. Heather actively participates in her local ADHA component and loves sharing with others the small successes in her profession.

Michele Carr, RDH, MA, EdD


Michele Carr is faculty Emeritus and former Chair, Division of Dental Hygiene at The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry. She also served as the Director of Continuing Education at the College of Dentistry for three years while she was chair of her division. Along with her research interests in clinical practice and cultural diversity, Dr. Carr has dedicated much of her career to serving numerous years as both a CODA consultant and a CODA Dental Hygiene Review Committee member. Dr. Carr has been recognized nationally and locally serving on numerous professional committees such as the ADEA Council of Allied Dental Program Directors, ADEA Continuing Education Advisory Committee, ADHA Council on Policy and Bylaws, and Ohio Dental Hygienists’ Association Government Relations Committee. She has published over 20 articles in a variety of dental journals and serves as an Ask-the-Expert columnist for the journal Dimensions of Dental Hygiene. Michele is a member of the Ohio State Dental Board and serves as an examiner for CDCA-WREB-CITA. Additionally, Michele is an accreditation consultant for Educators Platform.

Cheri Barton RDH, MSDH


Cheri Barton is a full-time faculty member at Eastern Washington University (EWU) in Spokane, Washington, and an Affiliate Faculty member with the University of Washington (UW) School of Dentistry. She is the senior clinic lead at EWU, and her teaching roles have included Radiology (lab and lecture), Senior Clinic II, III and IV, Periodontology I and II, and she is also the course director for Introduction to Periodontics for the UW Regional Initiatives in Dental Education (RIDE) program. Cheri is the recipient of the EWU College of Health Science and Public Health 2020 Deans Excellence Award. She is also an active member of the Supreme Chapter of Sigma Phi Alpha and was the 2021 President. Additionally, serves as President of her local chapter of Sigma Phi Alpha.

Tulsi Patel, RDH, MHA


Tulsi Patel serves as Associate Professor at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry. She has served in numerous roles at her current institution but has a true passion for teaching periodontology. She actively completes educational research on periodontology and has presents her findings at regional, national and international conferences. She also leads our Mastermind course on Periodontal Classifications and Treatment Planning. One of her most significant accomplishments includes co-creating the “Periodontitis and Gingivitis Module Utilizing 2017 AAP and EFP Classification System for Periodontal Disease” for Proctor & Gamble Dentalcare.com.

Ashley J. Hobbs MS, RDH, ECP II


Ashley J. Hobbs has been teaching continuously at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Dentistry since 2012 in the Division of Dental Hygiene. Professor Hobbs provides course directorship in the dental hygiene curriculum through Local Anesthesia and Pain Control, Dental Biomaterials and Introduction to the Preventive Practice of Dental Hygiene courses. She acts as the Junior Clinic Coordinator and enjoys providing skilled clinical instruction, hands-on learning experiences, and mentorship to students.

Darlene Jones, RDH, BS, MPA


Darlene Jones currently serves as Interim Director of the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Michigan. After graduating with her Associate's degree from Lakeland Community College the next 40+ years, she worked as a clinical dental hygienist, practicing in a variety of settings in Ohio, Texas, Wisconsin, and Michigan.  She earned my Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences from Midwestern State University, Texas, followed by a Master of Public Administration from Eastern Michigan University in 2002. For 10 years, she taught part-time at Wayne County Community College and at the University of Michigan, both in the clinic and classroom. In 2014, Ms. Jones started as a full-time faculty member at the University of Michigan. She is a member and current president of Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society, Nu-Chapter. For the past seven years, she have supervised a PA 161: Public Dental Prevention Program in Washtenaw County, working with dental hygiene students from the University of Michigan. Darlene enjoys practicing primarily in community settings and her passion and interest is expanding the use of dental hygiene services for the under served in the community as well as mentoring students during their community-based research projects. She also provide care for patients in our Integrated Special Needs Clinic and lead Educators Platform Mastermind on Special Needs.
